Reading

I love to read.

What I love most about reading is that it transports you to a different world, be it a magical, mythic world, or a memory of a place you used tobe in your life.

Recently I have read two great books, Going Home by Harriet Evans Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky.

GOING HOME:
To sum it up without giving it away, this book is about love and family. It's written so well and completely transports you into the world of Lizzy, the protagonist. Evans develops Lizzy so well that you aren't surprised by her decisions and you always know how she will react, as of she were your own best friend or sister. This story is captivating and light and I would recommend the book to anyone looking for a fun, romantic read to keep you cozy in the fall.

PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER:
It is commonly known that Chbosky has produced a classic and timeless work with this one. Each and every character of the plot is so fully developed and each so unique. This story is one of surprise, sorrow, compassion, and love that took me on a trip down memory lane as I relived many of the feelings I had as an innocent freshman experiencing love and heartbreak and friendships for the first time. The element of mystery still found in a main character you know so well is what leaves you feeling so fulfilled once you put the book down. I read this entire book in one shift, I couldn't put it down!

The Question of Compatibility

What makes people compatible?

That is one of the biggest questions I have. But I have worked out somewhat of an answer recently.

People aren't compatible because of common interests or common backgrounds. These are simply things that strengthen two relationships by eliminating some potential for disagreement.

But ultimately, what it comes down to is talking. When you are with someone you are compatible with and talking to them, there is never a dull moment, you aren't trying to impress, you are laughing, you are smiling, and you aren't holding back. A person you are compatible with is someone you can talk to all day and all night without thinking twice about what you are saying. The are someone you can tell anything and everything to. And they are someone you miss so desperately your heart aches without them.

This is what I have come up with. But who knows, maybe I am wrong.

Dream Log: Aug. 31st

Last night, I had a dream that my dad went outside my house and was saying my boyfriend's name. I then ran outside, overflowing with joy because my boyfriend was outside, back from his two week vacation. I was so happy to see him and kissed him passionately right then and there in front of my dad and he pulled away and said very loudly, "I love you!" and then kissed me again before I could respond. Then, from behind him, he produced a large black poster on which he had written in white  "I LOVE YOU" and then I finally was able to respond, "I love you."

I miss you, babe.
